In 2013, Luke Degon started a book series that would become a fun story of adventure and friendship. The series was called School Wars and featured a story in which schools represented armies that did battle with each other, with Luke and his friends as soldiers who fought for Lakes Elementary. The story was fun not just because it provided escapism and adventure from the monotony of school life but because everybody new the characters personally, making them feel more alive and special. The first book was called School Wars and it made Luke very popular with his peers. In 2014, however, Luke stopped writing. When a new student, Calvin Schilling read the original story, he wanted to be in the story, so Luke began a sequel called School Wars: The Great Pumpkin Caper that included some new students and featured a major plot twist. After three total stories had been written Luke again stopped writing, and could not be convinced to continue the story no matter how much he was bribed with Pokemon Cards and pretzel sticks. In 2017, Nicholas McClelland, a writer and School Wars fan wrote the first School Wars adventure to be produced by someone other than Luke, and Calvin helped him finish the adventure. In 2017, there were also plans for a School Wars movie that were never continued, though it still remains a novel concept that made Calvin plan an also futile School Wars animated TV show. Although there hasn't been a new School Wars book released in some time, there are currently plans for a School Wars graphic novel, set to be released in 2019. Until then, loyal fans can still have hope in the School Wars legacy, and adventure that will never die.
